Binglin {bing-ling} is an author-illustrator, two-time Ignatz award winning cartoonist-designer (shades of fear; be gay, do comics), and multidisciplinary maker of things. he is an enjoyer and creator of accessible science communication, playful design, and strange storytelling.

binglin is currently the publication & layout designer at stoop shop comics. from 2018 to 2024, he worked in-house at the national aquarium as their graphic/brand designer and science illustrator. Past clients include marketplace/minnesota public radio, GKIDS, Harmonix, The Nib, and Oni Press.

Expedition Backyard is his debut graphic novel, an early reader urban science story created in collaboration with science-communicator Rosemary Mosco and published through penguin Random House Graphic. you can order it through your local bookstore.

outside of work, binglin enjoys tinkering with fiber/textile art, being sat on by his cat, and translating short stories from chinese into english.
