Binglin {bing-ling} is an author-illustrator, two-time Ignatz award winning cartoonist-designer (shades of fear; be gay, do comics), and multidisciplinary maker of things. he is an enjoyer and creator of accessible science communication, playful design, and strange storytelling.

binglin is currently the publication layout designer at stoop shop comics. Past clients include marketplace/minnesota public radio, GKIDS, Harmonix, The Nib, and Oni Press. from 2018 to 2024, he worked in-house at the national aquarium as a graphic/brand designer and science illustrator.

Expedition Backyard is his debut graphic novel, an early reader urban science story created in collaboration with science-communicator Rosemary Mosco and published through penguin Random House Graphic. you can order it through your local bookstore.

outside of work, binglin enjoys tinkering with fiber/textile art, being sat on by his cat, and translating short stories from chinese into english.
